Our Story
The Mercantile by Miller started almost by accident. In 2017, owner Kay Miller walked into a U-Haul office to rent a truck, learned the staff rented space to local sellers on commission, and walked out with the idea for a business. The first Mercantile opened off Highway 119 and quickly outgrew its space, so we moved to Brook Highland Plaza on Highway 280, where we've grown to more than 50 vendors.
Kay brings decades of interior design and home remodeling experience from Yellowhammer Construction, our family's renovation company. General manager Mark Tucker, who managed Chelsea Antiques for 22 years, has been part of the Mercantile from the start, and store designer Ricky Gonzalez dresses the showroom each season so you can picture every piece in your own home.
Hand-Picked Makers
Kay and Mark hand-select every vendor for quality and originality, and we keep booths from overlapping so every visit turns up something new. Many of our makers are Southern artists creating handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces.

Our Signature Scents
Our exclusive Char Char and Evergreen candles are named for Kay's grandchildren.
